The Weimar Republic
The Spartakist Uprising, from the left wing, was an attempt at a communist uprising and was started by Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg.
Freikorps, and anti-revolutionary volunteer force, put the uprising down brutally by hunting down Liebknecht and Luxemburg and murdering them. They were then seen as the "saviours" of Germany.
The following year they created their own push of government to the right.
Wolfgang Kapp then began in March 1920.
German workers went on a general strike as a plea to save the Weimar Republic.
The Weimar Republic was Germany's first real republic. The Democratic Government was formed after WW1 with Friedrich Ebert as the first Chancellor. He took on this role until 1925.
German's felt that the constitution was the country's downfall.
